Do Northline cameras require a monthly subscription?
No. Footage records to your own network video recorder on site, and remote viewing from the mobile app is free. Optional cloud backup exists if you want off-site redundancy, but nothing stops working if you never pay a subscription.
What is PoE and why does it matter for cameras?
PoE (Power over Ethernet) delivers power and data over one network cable, so cameras need no power outlet at the mounting point. Installation is one cable run per camera back to the recorder, which makes professional multi-camera installs dramatically simpler and more reliable than Wi-Fi cameras.
How many days of footage can I keep?
A typical 4-camera setup recording continuously at 4MP keeps roughly 30 days on the 2TB drive included with our NVRs, and far longer with motion-only recording. Drives are standard and upgradeable, so retention is a hard-drive decision, not a subscription tier.
