Why not just use a consumer TV for digital signage?
Consumer TVs are rated for a few hours of daily use and their warranties are void in commercial settings. Commercial displays run 16 to 24 hours a day, are brighter for well-lit rooms, mount in portrait or landscape, and carry commercial warranties. For a screen that is on all day, commercial panels cost less over their life.
What is a kitchen display system (KDS)?
A KDS is a screen in the kitchen that shows incoming orders in real time, replacing printed tickets. Orders are bumped off the screen as they are completed, timers flag late items, and nothing gets lost or greasy. Northline KDS hardware works with all major restaurant POS platforms.
How do I get content onto a signage display?
Every signage display has HDMI input and a built-in media player that can loop images and video from USB, or run signage software over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Most buyers use free or low-cost signage platforms; we will point you to options that fit your setup.
